Bridge memberships

Food and nutrition should be accessible to all, regardless of one's income. In order to ensure this remains true for our organization, we offer Bridge Memberships to bridge the income gap for qualifying applicants. A bridge membership is simply a membership for which the investment fees are waived based on an applicant's low-income status. Bridge memberships are exactly the same as standard memberships and earn all the same benefits. This equal opportunity helps us serve our community equally. 

Wholesome Harvest Co-op offers bridge memberships to low-income individuals and families who receive one or more of the following benefits: Maryland WIC, SNAP/EBT, Social Security, public housing/section 8, cash assistance, energy assistance (HEAP), etc. Wholesome Harvest does not require proof of income status or benefits received. 

If you receive one or more of the benefits listed above, simply ask a store associate about our bridge membership program upon your next visit or email us and a member of our management team will guide you through the registration process!

A WHFC membership comes with many benefits. Member-owners are shareholders in our organization which means you'll have voting rights, the opportunity to run for a seat on our governance board, and the ability to place special orders for products you love! These benefits empower our community to have a positive impact on our local food system by increasing the buying power of all who benefit from it. This is a big deal and is critical to our mission to expand market opportunities for local farmers and increase access to affordable locally grown food. So, to recognize you for your contribution, all member-owners receive 10% off purchases made on Member Discount Days and subsidized members receive an additional 5% off daily purchases of local meat and produce. That's a win for you, a win for us, and a win for our community!
