We take community very seriously here at Wholesome Harvest Food Co-op. As a community-owned business, we couldn't exist without the support of each and every one of our member-owners, customers, farmers, volunteers, and employees. We value the connections we make every day with Allegany County, the Appalachian region, and the people who live here. So, thank you for visiting our site, and for getting involved. We are excited to work with you.
Each summer Allegany County hosts dozens of local farmers and producers for a bountiful farmers market season in prime locations across the area. Not only does it make for a lovely way to spend the morning or afternoon, attending the farmers market is an essential way that you can support local agriculture in your area and help boost small businesses in your community. The Allegany Farmers Market is an invaluable resource for small businesses, farmers, growers, and producers alike. Wholesome Harvest was fortunate enough to attend the 2022 Farmers Market at City Place in Frostburg, and we would love to attend again this season. That's where we need YOUR help!
As a collectively owned cooperative, volunteer support is essential to our fiscal sustainability. So if you would like to see Wholesome Harvest at the 2023 Allegany Farmers Markets, consider helping us get there!

Small Food Business Kitchen Incubator Program
In keeping with our mission to generate revenue streams for our local economy, WHFC introduced the Small Food Business Kitchen Incubator Program in January 2022 as an opportunity for up-and-coming food businesses in the Western Maryland region who do not yet have a commercial kitchen space of their own to grow their business. This program provides new food entrepreneurs with access to commercial kitchen space that meets health department standards, educational resources and tools for lasting success, a broadened market of consumers, and locally, ethically, and sustainably sourced ingredients. To learn more about the qualifications for WHFC's Kitchen Incubator Program, please download the Incubator Program Application Packet below.
At WHFC, we strive to provide opportunities for every need in our community in compliance with all Allegany County Health Department (ACHD) regulations. We are proud to work closely with the ACHD to ensure all programs conducted by and in our community kitchen observe legal health and food safety practices.
